September 6 - Viking Cat Club, Cleckheaton Leisure Centre, Cleckheaton

We took Dino, Tess and Sonny and Jack joined us again. Would history repeat itself - Cleckheaton was a good show for us in 2008. All the cats were looking at their show best in our opinion - they do scrub up alright! Sonny got his CAPS certificate, Tess got her final CAGPIB certificate so she is now a Grand International Premier And Dino got his final CAPIB certificate so he's now an International Premier. Tess was in a close decision for the nomination from her judge. She didn't get it - poor old Russ was straining a bit with how long he had to hold her out for the decision making process. Sonny was in the same category as Dino and while the judge loved him - bon chat, mon amour - when she saw Dino she changed her allegiance! Dino got the nomination and then got best male neuter and best overall neuter. He didn't quite match last year's performance by getting BIS as well but we were very pleased with that result. A good day all round. Jack was a bit wriggly for some reason and we think his restlessness let him down on the judging bench - he got the Ex3.

13 June - Aristocats Cat Club, Tidworth Leisure Centre, Tidworth

A long way to go so we only took Sonny and Tess with Jack along for company as well. Sonny and Tess both did OK. They both got their certificates and they both got nominated. Unfortunately neither won their BIS classes but a good day none the less. Jack got himself an Ex 2.

16 May - Viking Cat Club, North Kesteven Leisure Centre, Lincoln

Once again young Jack Frost joined us for the show so we took Sonny and Tess with the new kid on the block. Sonny and Tess both got their certificates, which was Sonny's first towards being a Supreme Premier - only 9 to go. He also got the Best In Variety which was an unexpected bonus. Young Jack  got the Ex 1 in his category but didn't quite get the nomination. He also got Best Kitten in the kitten side class.

28/29 March - Aristocats Cat Club, Harborough Leisure Centre, Market Harborough

An interesting weekend. We took Dino, Tess and Sonny. Jack's new owner brought him along on the Saturday for his first show to see how they both got on. Jack was so laid back you would have thought he'd been doing it for years. The Judge liked Jack's look, his size, his features and his personality and had lots of kind words to say. He got his Ex1 but didn't get nominated as he was up against a more mature Norwegian Forest Cat. The kitten group covers 3 - 6 months. Jack was just under 4 months, his competition was 2 days under 6 months. He'll be back - watch this space.

For the rest of the gang, they all got their certificates on the Saturday but only Tess got nominated. You'll see below our comment about always the bridesmaid. Not this time. Our Tess not only took best Female neuter but also Best Overall Neuter - what a star - we were so pleased for her - if we say so ourselves she looked gorgeous. On the Sunday everyone got their certificates once again so we are are proud to say that Sonny is now a Grand International Premier. Dino went no further and once again Tess got nominated. Unfortunately this time she went no further but she had a great weekend.

1 March 2009 - Garden of England Cat Show, Cricklade Leisure Centre nr. Swindon

We only took Dino and Tess to this one. Sonny is winding down to retirement so we didn't take him. It was a nice show. Both of them got their certificates towards their next awards and Tess got nominated. She didn't win the Best In Show but she still did very well. It's becoming a little bit of "Always the Bridesmaid...." with Tess. She's now had 6 nominations but only one BIS in the last year; but we always know we take the best cats home!
